This exhibition explores returning rocks to Aotearoa New Zealand, following Māori protocols and the ethics of moving rocks and stones. What if a rock is sacred? Do you need to ask permission before taking a stone? How can we be more aware in our relations with rocks and stones? The exhibition is open until the end of August in the EarthArt Gallery, Wills Memorial Building, Queen Street, Bristol. It is open to the public on Wednesday afternoons from 1 to 4.30. Events are happening on Thursday 16th April, Thursday 21st May and Saturday 30th May. Please contact Alyson for more details if you’re interested in coming along.

A summer of writing
I’ve just been teaching at Moniack Mhor with the novelist Sarah Moss. We ran a course titled In Place of Writing and got to work with some amazing poets and novelists. I taught in Abriachan Forest, which is community owned, and we all stretched our imaginations under a cloudless June sky. I’m back in Somerset now and taking time out of teaching and mentoring for the summer.
